For academic projects, first visit the DAAD platform – the German Academic Exchange Service – which has extensive grant search options. Research in Germany is another site with lots of information – check out the different categories and the downloadable PDF of DAAD grants. The DFG, the German Research Foundation, has information on grants during the pandemic here. On the Euraxess platform, the EU offers a list of vacancies and grants by country. See also the new ENRICH platform.

In Brazil, the German Center for Science and Innovation – DWIH, based in São Paulo with the AHK, publishes opportunities here. Also check out the Maria Sibylla Merian Center, and the Max Planck Society’s page of vacancies advertised in South America. The German foundations with representation in Brazil that offer academic scholarships are: Friedrich Ebert, Heinrich Böll, Konrad Adenauer and Rosa Luxemburg.

At Apoio.art, we tracked down several opportunities that have never been publicized in Brazil: some specific to a discipline, others at the intersection of art, creative practices and science. What we rarely list are scholarships linked to direct cooperation between universities in the two countries, reserved for a more restricted public.
