Hello visitors from other South American countries!
Our website is a local project for the Brazilian public, but many of the opportunities that appear are worldwide calls. It can therefore be interesting to visit apoio.art regularly. The site is constantly updated and new opportunities are added. Our audience is artists, creatives and other professionals in the cultural sector, on the one hand, but also students and academic researchers from related fields, especially the humanities and social sciences. The postulations are examined to see if it is possible to present them from Brazil. However, this often includes all or many other South American countries.
Important: the website is optimized for desktop screens (not for smartphones).

On the home page, you can immediately see the current calls for proposals: at the top, those whose request periods expire soon. We work with 3 colors on the website:
- Green = registration is possible today
- Amarillo = Recurring calls for proposals
- Rojo = Convocatorias caducadas
…lapsed can also be consulted separately via the menu / Closed grants
How do our search / selection filters work?
At the top of the home page there are two lines with filter categories:
- sectors such as “Visual Arts”, “Performing Arts” or “Music”.
- selection by country: France or Germany
By clicking on these “labels”, they act as filters: after a few seconds, the website automatically displays the corresponding selection. You don’t need to activate many filters. For example, it’s enough to activate just one sector such as “A.visual”, and perhaps also the desired country “FR” or “DE”.
Important: on the home page, these “labels” only filter the current and recurring bids that are there. And on the ENDED SUPPORTS page (via the menu) these labels only filter out the expired bids that are there.
You can also consult the TOTAL contents of the database. This can be done using the free search. This search is textual, letter by letter, and refers to the Portuguese language. Therefore, you will get better results if you only write the root of a word, without specific endings. For example, “sustenta” instead of “sustentabilidade”, “sustentável”, etc.

In addition, we are compiling a list of useful links for our visitors to search for on the LINKS page. In addition to the lists of links specific to France and Germany, you will also find links to interesting internationally oriented websites, which also have important notices and information.

El sitio web apoio.art es un proyecto experimental de cooperación franco-alemana en Río de Janeiro. It has been developed by the Goethe-Institut in Río de Janeiro in collaboration with the French Cultural Cooperation and Action Service based at the Consulate General of France in Río de Janeiro. The website prototype was first presented to the public on January 22, 2021. Since then, we have published more than 500 entries.
We offer an overview of the funding available in France and Germany for artists and other professionals (from Brazil). Our aim is to contribute to the democratization and decentralization of information about existing opportunities, facilitating access to them.
What we *don’t* include in apoio.art, with a few exceptions, are: 1) Programs, festivals, awards (etc.) that are self-commissioned, without an open call; 2) Scholarships for residents and organizations based in European countries; 3) Scholarships already established in Brazil and advertised on other channels (see Links page).
We insist that we do not offer advice or support requests. The aim of the project is to track a large volume of activities by various local, regional or national entities, from the smallest associations of groups of artists and activists to the largest sponsorship programs: whether private entities such as foundations or companies, or public entities. We hope that apoio.art is an example of the breadth and diversity of international exchanges and can foster greater cultural cooperation.
