festival \"Un Brin de Court\", aimed at amateur and professional directors. The event will take place between November 15 and 22, 2026, at the Backstep theater in Vichy, as well as in other department rooms in Allier. The Francophonie will be in the spotlight in this edition. Conditions of the international competition: films made after January 1, 2024, with a duration between 1 and 3 minutes (including all credits), suitable for all audiences, in French language or subtitled in French; accepted genres - fiction, drama, comedy (documentaries and animated films are not accepted); No film can be withdrawn after confirmation of selection. Two categories to choose from: Free Theme and Required Theme: \"Resistance\". Between 20 and 30 films will be selected for each category of the competition, based on the following criteria: direction, script, interpretation, image and sound. Submitted films may be selected for non-competitive programming. The institutions wish to develop a creative space that allows conceptual, semantic and aesthetic bridges between the work of young creators and that of Lee Ufan. In this first edition, six projects will be selected, each awarded \u20ac10,000, for field investigations on two themes: disinformation (mechanisms, impacts, and coping strategies) and the Gulf region (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen, Iraq, and Iran), addressed beyond stereotypes. Independent journalists, documentary photographers, photojournalists and writers, of any nationality, age or country of residence, can apply. Individual or duo projects are accepted, including those already started, as long as they do not have confirmed editorial funding. The 6th edition of the festival will take place in Pontarlier, France, from October 12 to 25, 2026, and the competitive sessions will be held on October 17 and 18, 2026. The call is aimed at professional animation short films, lasting between 2 and 20 minutes, made in any frame-by-frame animation technique, completed between January 1, 2025 and July 31, 2026 and submitted for the first time to the festival. Term papers are not eligible. The works must be in French or have French subtitles, and each director can submit a maximum of two films. These new types of writing are designated \"NEF Animation\" by industry professionals. Technological advances, associated with immersion and interactivity, constitute vectors for the renewal of audiovisual and cinematographic experiences in the universe of animation. The 4th edition of the festival will take place from October 10 to 11, 2026. Individuals or legal entities (companies, schools, institutions, agencies, etc.) that have produced or co-produced a short film using animation techniques and integrating new technologies\/new expressions can apply. Short films of up to 30 minutes in length (including credits), produced after March 1, 2025, of all genres, are accepted, as long as they respect the theme of new technologies\/new expressions. Films with dialogue must have a subtitle file in .srt format in the language of the film. A director can submit several films, but only 1 can be selected. Check exhibition formats in the regulation. Jury and Audience Prizes worth at least 250 euros. The films selected in competition may be part of the \"Best of FINECAA\" program, which will be presented at partner festivals. The program supports research, experimentation, production, and writing\/curatorial projects that address contemporary challenges, especially related to ecological and social transitions, stimulating interdisciplinary approaches and the connection between creation, territory, and innovation. The residencies will be held at the Martell Foundation in Cognac, France, between the fall of 2026 and 2027, in three modalities: research and experimentation (6 to 8 weeks), production (2 to 6 weeks), and writing and curatorship (2 to 4 weeks, in the summer term). The program seeks to encourage collaborative processes of creation, focusing on the production of an unpublished work and the appreciation of the artist's book, combining research, writing, experimentation and cultural mediation actions. The residency will have a total duration of 2 months (8 weeks, which can be fractioned), starting in January 2027, at the House of the Writer Michel Butor, in Lucinges, France. Of the residency time, 70% will be dedicated to artistic creation and 30% to mediation activities with the public. Pairs formed by an author and an artist or publisher can participate, and individual applications are not accepted. Participants must prove professional trajectory, be available during the residency periods and do not need to have previously collaborated. The benefits include a breeding grant of \u20ac 2,000 gross per month for each member, accommodation at Casa Michel Butor and the cost of two round trips per participant (France\/Europe).
