Attention to the application requirements.
HIAS (Institute for Advanced Study Hamburg) accepts applications from scientists of all career levels, as well as musicians and visual artists. Ideal candidates are scientists and artists who reflect on the basic premises of their discipline and work theoretically or conceptually. Applications from young scientists or artists are expressly welcome. Because HIAS places great emphasis on diversity, applications from individuals based in regions of the world that are often underrepresented are particularly welcome. Fellows must reside and work in Hamburg during the period of their HIAS Fellowship. Research or projects that require a permanent absence (in laboratories, archives or other institutions outside Hamburg) are therefore not suitable for a scholarship.
